Bear Gallery

I like bears. In addition to the rotating bear cameos that appear on each page at random, I've taken pictures of a a few bears just so I can show them off.

Bear Collection A few of my bears, plus some guest bears belonging to friends.
Top row (left to right): Surface Washable, Mild Suds, Leonard Bear, Jessica Bear, Valerie Bear, Rudenstine Bear, Rupert Bear, Walter Bear.
Bottom row (left to right): Rumphius Bear, Danny Bear, Matthias Bear, Eleazar Bear, Sosthenes Bear, Balthasar Bear.

Rumphius Bear Rumphius Bear. My chief bear. Looking very smug.

Darcy Bear Darcy Bear. This is actually Jane's bear. (Darcy was originally purchased by me, which would explain why he looks so much like a bunch of my bears.) You can see Jane peeking out from behind Darcy.

Westcott Bear Westcott Bear. Westcott is my "office bear," as he lives in my office at work. He is shown here sitting on my file cabinet holding a skein of nice purple yarn.

Emmeline Bear Emmeline Bear Emmeline Bear. Emmeline Bear is the first bear I've bought for myself in over four years (I usually get them as gifts nowadays). I found her October 2007 at a yard sale for only two dollars! While she's a nice bear and all, well, I didn't really know where she'd been, so my friend Karen gave her a good washing shortly after my acquiring her. On the right, you can see her drying off over the sink in our laundry room. Emmeline has complained that the drying picture makes her look fat because her right paw blends in with her stomach, making her look extremely paunchy. On the far right is Emmeline wearing her favorite green hoodie. Emmeline Bear Emmeline Bear

Azariah Bear Azariah Bear. A long-lost close relative of Karen's Danny Bear. Azariah is literally the bear of my dreams. For some ten years, I've been assailed by dreams of laying my grubby little hands on a "Danny Bear"-line bear and only in October 2007 did I finally find and acquire one of my very own. Outside of the original Danny Bear, I had expected to never set eyes upon another of his family for the rest of my life. . . sometimes, dreams really do come true. On the right is Azariah sitting next to Danny Bear. They get along very well. They're both over 20 years old, though they look quite different -- Applause (the manufacturer) last made the "Danny Bear" line around 1985-ish. Azariah & Danny Bear
